Memories and Christmas.

So this past weekend I drove up to Northern Virginia to visit my brother and his wife. On the drive up I went through Richmond on Interstate 95. Just driving into the city I saw the lights on the buildings and it just gave me that warm Christmas fuzzy feeling. It also brought up so many memories. I remember a distinct memory of when I was younger and my brother and sister were in the car and we were driving up to my dad's house and crossing over the James river. I had to use the bathroom really bad and my brother turned to me and was like "hey look at all that water."

...That made me really think about where memories stem from and why they come up when they do. Sure a memory is good for remembering mistakes and not repeating them. But so many memories are just there to bring back certain emotions or to leave a personal mark on something. Like hearing the band Chicago reminds me of my dad. Random I know but definitely worth some brain power when on a 4 hour trip on the interstate.
